Charles Lyons, Sr., 82, of Burgettstown passed away unexpectedly in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday January 27, 2021 from injuries sustained in a fall at his home.
He was born on June 3, 1938 in Frankfort Springs a son of the late L. Wayne and Helen Arnold Lyons.
A proud Veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt
He was reunited with his beloved wife Stella Marie Hoberek Lyons who he married on March 11, 1958 and passed away just a few months ago on July 9, 2020
He is survived by his four children Charles Lyons, Jr., Valerie Lyons, Rebecca Guta and Janet Myers and husband Brian; eight grandchildren Jamie Bittner, Rachele Preston, Cammey Singer, Brittany Harps and husband Daryl, Stephanie Bruce, Leah Bruce, David Singer, Patrick Varner and Scott Pond; ten great grandchildren Caleb Clark, Skylar Bruce, Cory Cranston, Raelee Dvorsak, Ava Harps, Jaxson Spencer, Kiera and Colton Singer, Lennon Ely and Tiahna Grant; sisters Dorothy Lyons, Adele Brown, Vennie Mellot; a brother Walter Lyons and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are his granddaughter Erica Lynn Guta, great grandson Jayden Spencer and a brother Leslie Lyons,
Family and friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday February 1st in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 2, 2021 with Pastor Karen Jacobs officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
